I was going through my emails when I came across the one stating an opening at Teach For India as a campaign leader. With my previous knowledge about Teach For India, it took me less than 10 seconds to click the links and do some Google searches. After exchanging a few emails with the recruitment team and learning more about the responsibilities, I finally landed on the application page. Being a systems engineer, filling the form was a fairly easy task while entering my particulars. As I was aware of the TFI movement already and have followed it on social networks like Twitter, it didn’t take much time to answer the long questions either.

Next I received a call stating that I had cleared the first round and shall go through a telephonic interview for which I was given 3 slots to choose from. I also received an email containing the pre-work document which was to be submitted 24 hours before the Telephonic Interview. This included some interesting assignments as I was watching videos and reading blog posts which are few of my favorite activities. The videos introduced me to a new world, with classrooms where education can be termed as excellent. The TFI fellow’s blog inspired me to document my thoughts and that is one of the reasons I am writing this post.

After submitting the pre-work I was eagerly waiting for the call when my phone finally rang at 1 pm on 30th July, 2013. I had my recruitment manager on the other side and we talked about different things ranging from my experiences to my knowledge about TFI. The interview went great and I was told that the results will be declared on the following day.

On 31st July I received an email in the after noon congratulating me on becoming the Teach For India Campaign Leader at Infosys, Chandigarh. ūüôā
